At the very beginningof the new semester, four new international English teachers, from the UnitedStates and the United Kingdom respectively, arrived at SWPU. Currently, there are five international language teachers on campus in total, including the Russian languageteacher working here last year who decided to stay for another year. Thisnumber of international language teachers will well guarantee the foreignlanguage teaching assignments at SWPU.
The day right afterthey arrived, the Office of International Affairs organized a meeting between the 4 new international teachers and staffmembers from the School of Foreign Languages, including the Dean, Vice Deansand the department directors, etc. The aim of the meeting was mainly to helpthe international teachers get a knowledge of the foreign language teachingsystem, as well as learn about their teaching tasks of the semester as early aspossible, so that they could give themselves into the preparation of teachingas soon as possible.
After the meeting, theleaders of the School of Foreign Languages spoke highly of the foreign teachershired this year, believing that they would bring new vitality to the foreignlanguage teaching and learning on campus.
